DIY Tee Shirt Update

“I am not afraid I was born to do this” ~St. Joan of Arc

This is my St. Joan of Arc tee shirt. It started as an understated pink tee from the TJ Maxx clearance rack, but it was a little too plain so I embroidered the word ‘courage’ on it in red thread. I love read and pink together, and I’m obsessed with how it turned out! Originally, I planned on making a tutorial, but there’s really nothing to it. I tried tracing the word on first with pencil, but the pencil wouldn’t show up, so I free handed the embroidery. I didn’t use embroidery floss because I thought it would be too thick.

“There is not place for selfishness and no place for fear! Do not be afraid, then, when love makes demands. Do not be afraid when love requires sacrifice.” ~JPII

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” ~Psalm 56:3

“But now, this is what the Lord says… Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” ~Isaiah 43:1

“Fear is such a powerful emotion for humans that when we allow it to overtake us, it drives compassion right out of our hearts.” ~St Thomas Aquinas

“Courage is a resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.” ~Mark Twain

  1. Hi Sweetness! What a great idea, it’s a great fashion statement! And yes, pink and red look good together. I like the idea of free hand, might give it a try. Kisses from your Titi
